To Our Big Sis

Your memory is a keepsake from which I'll never part,

God has you in His keeping, I have you in my heart.

She was the eldest of us, nineteen grandkids- the one we could look upto- the one who got into school first, went to college first, got a job first and got married first- The one who had the right to tell us all anything in this whole wide world.

Each and every one of us have memories to share- those who grew up right behind her have the most, for sure. They recall the times of visits or sleepovers during childhood, when she used to tell stories and share about her daring feats. Yes, she was a girl who enjoyed every aspect of life- she could even drive the lorries the family owned back then. And we younger ones recall a loud, fearless and outspoken young lady - a bold 20th century girl anyone would admire and desire to be.

She was a voracious reader- with cupboards filled with novels and volumes-probably the most wide reader of us all- and was passionate for knowledge. She was like a walking encyclopedia- and also had beautiful writing skills- which was evident even in her chat replies. She could have even risen to the level of Civil Service- she possessed that much talent and wisdom.

Whether we called her Blessymamma or Blessy chechi, the love she gave back to each of us was the same. She applauded our achievements, expressed joy in our happy moments and encouraged us to be the best version of ourselves. We shared joys and sorrows together. We had fun times together. She was all-inclusive and loved life to its fullest extent. She was the lioness who always protected all of her family members.

She loved to keep in contact-whether with her friends or family members- She stood tallest and was the most chic of the lot- she had a class of her own- one that none of us could beat.

We all will miss her- her big smile, beaming laugh and lovable heart. A brave and beautiful soul- inside and out.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to you, Suresh Achachan and Dan; Gracy Ammamma and our dear cousins of this household.

Blessy Chechi- a little bit of you will always live in us. You have not gone away- you're there somewhere-unheard, unseen- and your love will still keep us going.

One day, our tears and fears will be gone too- and we will meet you once again.

Till then, Goodbye, big Sis. 💝

On behalf of the Chirakadavil cousins,

Remya 🙏
