For He Loves Us So
Adam and Eve felt ashamed, disobeying that first time
And you forgave their sins so deep
For You loved them so.
Jacob was the brother who cheated his way to his father's blessings
But was ultimately blessed beyond measure
For You loved him so.
Nobody was around when Moses killed that Egyptian
So he ran to the wilderness but became a leader
For You loved him so.
You lifted up a Gentile prostitute Rahab to be worthy enough
And enter the genealogy of Your Son
For You loved her so.
David led Your people and sang the psalms about Your love
As he committed adultery, You pardoned his sins
For You loved him so.
Israel turned away from You and forgot You so many times
You never lost hope in them or let them go
For You loved them so.
You knew that woman from Samaria was a sinner in all ways
But You accepted her and gave her the living water
For You loved her so.
Peter and Thomas denied and doubted Your very existence
Yet You chose them to build Your church
For You loved them so.
This world has grown out of the Biblical ways and times
People have gone astray from Your Word
But still You love us so.
Churches turn into eateries and party-houses
Even so small tents turn into tabernacles for You
For You love us so.
This planet You created and saw 'good' is not that good anymore
Yet miracles still happen and hands still rise in worship
For You love us so.
I am also not perfect or righteous in Your eyes
And you still give me Your promises and these verses of hope
For You love me so.
